Elder Dr. George A. Miller is a native of Louisville, Mississippi. He graduated from Louisville Public School in May 1969 and earned an athletic scholarship in football to the University of Arkanasas in 1969. He graduated from UAPB with a Bachelor’s degree in Recreation in 1973. Upon completing his degree, he signed a contract to play professional football with the Atlanta Falcons. After finishing his career in athletics, he lived in Detroit, Michigan where he worked as a public relations agent for Amerian Natural Systems of Detroit, Michigan.
Dr. Miller accepted his call into the Gospel ministry in 1986. In 1988 he was ordained as an Elder in the Church of Christ Holiness U.S.A. In 1994, Dr. Miller earned a Master’s degree in Educational Psychology from Mississippi State University. In September 2000, he enrolled in a doctoral program at Carolina University of Theology and earned his Doctorate degree in theology in 2004.
Presently Dr. Miller is employed as the Project Director of the Building Strong Families Program for the Starkville School District of Starkville, Mississippi. Dr. Miller is married to Mrs. Equilla Turner Miller formerly of Forest City, Arkansas. Mrs. Equilla Miller holds a Master’s level education degree and has taught in the public schools in Mississippi for 20 years. Dr. and Mrs. Miller have three children. He currently serves as Senior Pastor and founder of Faith Tabernacle Church of Christ Holiness, U.S.A. in Louisville, Mississippi.
